Football, passion and RPO

We are only one day away from kickoff here in Columbus, Ohio. I absolutely love football season and I am a serious fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. People have been sending me video clips lately knowing that watching them makes counting down the days turn into counting down the hours. Few here at Yoh know how serious my love for the Buckeyes even is and they have yet to meet that other “side” of me. I have to admit that my game day behavior is not one that I would particularly ever want my Yoh colleagues or my clients to bear witness to. I have friends and family that have raised an eyebrow when they’ve been present on those days, and my response to them is to smile and say, “everyone’s passionate about something and I’m passionate about Ohio State Football.” (Thanks dad!)

So for those of you that don’t care for my football team, we can debate that topic at another time, because this post isn’t about my beloved Buckeyes really, it’s about passion.

We’re having an exciting year here at Yoh RPO, and I couldn’t be more proud of my team and the results they are delivering to our clients. We have a such a talented group working so hard to make it happen for the customers they support. Are there challenges? Absolutely. But do we pursue betterment in each and every one of our programs by approaching our customers consultatively and with impactful data and strategic recommendations for change? You bet we do. Why? Because we have passion. Passion for what we do. Passion for the company we represent and passion for the customers that we are working on behalf of. If there isn’t pride and passion in your work, you are truly missing out.

It doesn’t matter what job you are doing and whether you are doing it in the corporate world, manufacturing environment, or a student working in an internship or co-op program. Regardless of type of role, big or small, have pride in what you do and how you deliver it! People recognize when others have gone the extra mile, that there is pride in their work, and those two things will always count in the end.

Passion is what carries us forward. Those with the right attitude and approach will generate results and those results are what renew RPO partnerships. It’s why our customers choose to keep doing business with us, and why we win when given the opportunity.

A great quote by Vince Lombardi sums it up well-

“We will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence.”

That quote is our mantra. It’s how we approach our service delivery here at Yoh, with a pride and passion that motivates us to truly give it all we’ve got.

I hope my Ohio State Buckeyes approach this season the same way. We soon shall see.
