Policy: Certification Assistance Policy (Tuition and Professional Education)
Policy Statement
Yoh encourages the development of candidates through job/skill-related certification programs. We encourage you to reach your personal and professional goals, and one of these means is through certification programs. The Company will provide financial assistance to eligible, placed candidates (i.e., contractors/consultants) in accordance with federal income tax law and regulations upon successful completion of certain approved job/skill-related professional certification program.
Eligible Candidates
Candidates who have been placed and are on billing for 6 or more months (i.e., contractors/consultants).
Eligible Programs
The professional certification program must be related the employee’s job, required for the position, or otherwise expected to enhance their development. Such programs are generally expected to result in a certification.
Eligible Expenses
The cost of the approved professional certification program is covered up to $3,500. The Company will not reimburse for any amounts which are already funded through scholarships or grants. The cost of books, workbooks, exams, and other supplies directly related to the course or professional program may be included in the request for certification reimbursement. This does not include general terms such as pens, paper, folders, calculators, etc. Fees such as technology fees, which are directly related to the course or professional program and are required to be paid with the tuition can also be included in the request for reimbursement. Examples of expenses that cannot be submitted for reimbursement are late fees, parking, etc.
Benefit Amount
Employees may receive reimbursement up to $3,500. The candidate/consultant must be in a billable position at the time of reimbursement.
Reimbursement Requirements
Reimbursement requests must be submitted within 60 days of completion of coursework, if the candidate/consultant is already on billing, or 6 months after the candidate/consultant has been placed and is on billing. A passing grade of C or higher (70% or higher) must be achieved to qualify for reimbursement. If a Certification course is considered “Pass/Fail,” a Pass is necessary to qualify for reimbursement.
Approval Process
Your certification course/program selection must be approved prior to the start of the course/program. If you receive approval for the certification course/program and there is a lapse of two or more years without any coursework, reapproval will be required.
