Podcast: Chris Wink on the Philadelphia technology community (Part 1)

Written by Guest Blogger | April 20, 2010

Hyper-local. Hyper-focused. Hyper-regional. It seems the term for the recent phenomena of carving out a niche on the long-tail of the media has yet to be settled on. It makes no difference to us here at The Seamless Workforce; we're just thrilled that it's a reality. Why? Because the thoughts that we share here must be considered in the context of the geographical realities of the workforce in which they are applied. Therefore, we're committed to injecting a regional perspective where and when it makes sense. Fortunately for us, there is a very successful technology blog right here in our own backyard that's agreed to provide some of that perspective for us.

Last week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Chris Wink. He's one of the co-founders of Technically Philly, a blog launched in early 2009 to respond to and report on the rapidly growing technology community in the Greater Philadelphia region. As a regular reporter for Technically Philly, Chris is uniquely positioned to shed some light on Philadelphia and its strong technology undercurrent.

In the first of our three-part series, Chris discusses the growing tech presence in Philadelphia and why the city is a great community for being where you want to be and doing what you want to do. Listen to part one of our conversation below. Be sure to check back later this week for the second segment on Philadelphia and tech employment.
